James Dean - Times Square

"The unforgettable image of James Dean, hunched in his black overcoat, bearing the weight of a generation on his shoulders."
- Adam Gopnik, The New Yorker

"A very famous photograph of James Dean taken in Times Square in 1955. He is walking in the rain, cigarette dangling from his lips, the beauty of 1950's New York in varying shades of black and grey -- foggy, misty and utterly compelling -- in short a perfect picture... perfect composition, perfect subject, perfect era, perfect mood."
- Gail Levin, filmmaker

Shan:
I'd hit it ;)

Philip:
Exquisitely controlled image. The coverging diagonals, the positioning of the subject and the reflection in the street keep concentrating the eye upon the subject.

ed:
james dean--the most overrated actor in the history of humanity---bar none. maybe if he had taken a few more driving lessons ...

jim:
